“She Don’t Love Me Like She Used To” by Brent Blount
I wrote this song and sent it to Paramount Song in Nashville, then they gave me a songwriter contract; consequently, they made a professional demo from the demo I sent them. The demo I sent had two rhythm guitars, one lead guitar, bass, a drum machine I played manually, and me singing. The professional demo they made substituted one rhythm guitar with piano and was at a little faster tempo. They did an extraordinary job on it. But it gets better.
“She Don’t Love Me Like She Used To” was selected to be on a CD Paramount Song made entitled, “Catch A Rising Star.” Only the very best demo songs they recorded in 2010 were selected; furthermore, “Catch A Rising Star” is now available to “publishers, producers and recording artists throughout the music industry; and to selected radio stations” their letter told me. So get ready, it just might be on the radio. You can listen to it by clicking on “She Don’t Love Me Like She Used To” here (not for sale). "She Don't Love Me Like She Used To" has been sent to KKNG 97.3 in Oklahoma City and to KVOO 98.5 in Tulsa, Oklahoma by Paramount Song on "Catch A Rising Star" as of 01/12/2011 with a letter from Paramount Song promoting it. Hopefully they'll play it on the radio! This is the final mastered version. Enjoy!
"She Don’t Love Me Like She Used To"
(Chorus)
She don’t love me like she used to,
The years have worn her down,
The ring I gave her,
So long ago,
She tries to keep off the ground.
And I can’t change it,
I can’t make it go away,
She don’t love me like she used to,
And that ain’t never gonna change.
(Verse)
When I saw you, at that table,
And it was at our first date.
I needed a fix, maybe some kicks,
And man you sure were strange.
When I saw you walk in that room,
I knew you were the one for me.
I never wanted anyone else, since I
Held you tenderly.
(Chorus)
(Verse)
You went 1,000 miles, to
Follow your dream.
Fell on that stair, said I
Didn’t care, and all but said
Leave me.
I went crazy and left you,
And you still wanted me.
But when you got much better,
You wish you was without me.
(Chorus)
